  • Microsoft SQL Server

Summary

How to enable communication encryption with Microsoft SQL Server on DxConsole and DxEnterprise. For more details on setting up encrypted connections with Microsoft SQL Server see the MSDN article in the References section below.

Information/Steps

The certificate should be installed using the VHost name on each server that is a member of the VHost. Once that is complete, you should go to the server where the instance is active and modify the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Certificate

The registry is replicated to the instances SQL Data Root upon changes, so no further action is need to have the setting persist on failover or re-host to another server.
