Replacing Cluster Nodes
When replacing members of a DxEnterprise/DxOdyssey cluster, you don't need to worry about obtaining temporary licenses or adjusting your existing licensing configuration. Here's what you need to know:
- You can add new nodes to the cluster without requiring additional licenses.
- When adding new nodes, ensure that they have the same or higher DxEnterprise/DxOdyssey version than the existing nodes in the cluster.
- Move applications from the old node to the new node and then remove the old node from the cluster.
- During this process, you may briefly exceed your license limits as both the old and new nodes are present in the cluster simultaneously. However, this is a temporary situation, and no additional licensing is required.
By following these best practices, you can ensure that your DxEnterprise/DxOdyssey deployment is properly licensed and minimize any potential issues.
